Boasting fine country views, 32in TV’s with surround sound and their own individual verandahs and Jacuzzi hot tubs, they sit adjacent to the owners’ mixed farm in the hamlet of Mount Pleasant, an ideal location for exploring the nearby Peak District National Park and the myriad delights of the counties of Staffordshire and Cheshire. A wonderfully diverse range of attractions lie within easy reach – Tutbury Castle and the National Museum of Childhood at Sudbury Hall are just 3 miles away whilst Kedleston Hall (NT) and Ashbourne, a delightful and historic market town known as the gateway to glorious Dovedale in the Peak District, are both about 10 miles distant as are the thrills and excitement of Alton Towers. The bustling market town Bakewell (of delicious pudding fame) and the magnificent stately homes of Chatsworth House, Shugborough Hall and Haddon Hall are all within 20 miles of Oaklands Country Lodges, and great days out are easily accessible at Drayton Manor, Waterworld and Trentham Gardens Monkey Forest. Golf and riding are available within 2 miles and fishing is enjoyed locally. Shops 2 miles, dining pub 1 mile

Two bedrooms both ensuite. Open plan sitting room with wood burner, doors to verandah and kitchen and dining areas. Double bedroom with four poster bed, TV and ensuite bathroom/WC with 6' double ended bath (shower attachment). Twin bedded room with zip and link beds (6' double by arr), TV and ensuite wet room/WC.

Reviews
The lodge had everything you'd ever need and was located close to many locations for great days out with kids. The hot tub was an extra bonus, we loved it and the kids loved it and it kept them warm too! (We went in Feb).

My boyfriend and I had a fantastic weekend staying at Waterside Lodge and would wholeheartedly recommend Oaklands to anybody wanting a relaxing, luxurious break in the beautiful Derbyshire countryside! The lodge had everything and more than we could have wished for and was furnished/presented beautifully. The jacuzzi was especially wonderful after a long day out walking! Next time we'll stay for longer!

For many of those staying in our holiday cottages in Derbyshire, the main appeal of the county will be the unspoilt scenery of the Peak District, in the north of the county. However, there are many other attractions waiting for you in this varied region,
Derbyshire boasts a number of fine country houses, including Chatsworth House & Gardens, one of our finest stately homes with a magnificent chapel, not to mention an impressive water cascade and the towering plume of the Emperor Fountain. And Hardwick Hall in Doe Lea is one of England’s finest Elizabethan houses, with an amazing frontage of tall windows. Bolsover Castle, dating from the 12th Century, is also well worth a visit during one of our Derby cottage holidays.
The city of Derby has some excellent shopping and the Cathedral is famous for its impressive tower. If you’re in a ghoulish mood, pay a visit to Derby Gaol, a popular visitor attraction based in the old dungeons of Derby County Gaol. Afterwards, why not take a stroll in Derby Arboretum, England’s first public park, or take a look around Pickford’s House, a marvellous example of 18th Century architecture.
